The last time that a McLaren won the F1 World Constructors Championship (WCC) was in 1998 and their drivers were Mika Hakkinen, who became world champion, and David Coultard. The years of glory for McLaren were from 1984 through till 1991 when the team won six out of eight WCCs and came second in the other two years. They also finished second in 1992 and 1993. Then the team had five drivers the man who was probably the best ever driver in F1, Ayrton Senna, along with Gerhard Berger, the great Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, and Keke Rosberg.

A number of McLaren drivers have won the F1 World Driver's Championship and the last one to do so was Lewis Hamilton in 2008. Others were Mika Häkkinen in 1998 and 1999; Ayrton Senna in 1998, 1990, and 1991; Alain Prost in 1985, 1986 and 1989; Niki Lauda in 1984; James Hunt in 1976; and Emerson Fittipaldi in 1974.

For the last two years McLaren has finished second behind the awesome Red Bulls driven by the outstanding Sebastian Vettel and Mark Weber; but this year with their highly energised drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, plus their brand new car the MP4-27 , McLaren intend to put an end to the Red Bull run and take the championship for themselves.

If you are a fan of this British dream team with its two British Drivers, then you can show your support by sporting some McLaren F1 clothing or even replica f1 helmets. There are some great Jenson and Lewis t-shirts, McLaren polo's and caps, coats and more. You can even buy a team the t-shirt as worn last year by Lewis, along with a range of other tops.

There are great ranges available for women, men and kids and many of the lines are designed by Hugo Boss. As well as team merchandise there is also available a McLaren lifestyle range with some top quality items including a beautiful limited edition leather jacket that looks all of its £1,499 price tag.
